Captain MIDnight

Captain Midnight (or “The Black Stallion,” as he is often called by observers in reference to the famous book and movie) is as beautiful as his namesake. Because he is so incredibly handsome, with a coat that glistens in the sun, he is a favorite subject of photographers.

Born in the spring of 2000, his mother was captured in the 2001 round up, and his father was killed in the process. He was adopted by Don Juan’s band until he matured and left to form his own band.

Captain Midnight takes delight in staying just out reach of Don Juan, but close enough to keep his adopted father on his toes. This year he stole Bitty Baby and her foal from Don Juan. Both stallions are safe from capture and live on the San Felipe Preserve.
